FCBarcelona have tied up with Conscient Football and have launched their entry into India through their trademark FCBarcelona football camps. Last year, the FCBarcelona football camps were held in 22 cities across the world and were attended by 18000 young footballers. The training offers the participants a chance to live and experience the FCBarcelona way for a week under the expert guidance of their coaches. Scientifically developed, the training program is divided into three segments – Introduction, Pre-Training, and Training for children in the age groups of 6–17 years. These camps serve as a major stepping-stone for the participants who wish to move to more serious training.
The first of the 5-day long camps were held in early 2012 in the Delhi NCR, offering world-class training to hundreds of young footballers under the same successful methodology that has produced leading football stars like Lionel Messi and Xavi Hernández.
A team of coaches from FCBarcelona, headed by Coach Josep Moratalla, an ex-Barça player himself, a contemporary of the legendary Diego Maradona, were in India for the camps. They were in-charge of the training given in the Camps and had also trained the Indian coaches who assisted them in the same. This camp was a special moment for the development of football in India as it is a clear sign of the bright future there is for the sport in this country.
Each of the camps is conducted for 5 days with 2.5 to 3 hours of top-quality training everyday for every participant. 30 participants are put under every FCB coach and each batch had a maximum of 90 participants. Every participant is handed out the official FCBEscola kits for the camps.
